The welcome we had was very good. Due to back injury issues we have to travel with rucksacks rather than suitcases which give us a bit of a hiker look and we choose to travel by train. The impression I had was the check-in staff treated us exactly the same as if we had arrived in a limousine which sadly has not always been our experience in some other hotels. Breakfast was really excellent where nothing ever ran out before being restocked. The staff were totally on top of their game and always courteous. The fast and frequent three lift service was a boon to us on the 6th floor. This is an old railway hotel for the now closed Manchester Central station now a conference and exhibition centre and much is made of the hotel's history which was gratifying especially to rail travellers like us. Trams to nearly all parts of Manchester stop across the road.

Lovely hotel, very friendly staff and nice atmosphere and good location. Comfortable beds. We had made slight error with our booking for one of the rooms and the manager was very efficient in fixing it for us and honouring what we thought we had booked. slight delay in the rooms been ready and we were given complimentary drinks at bar as result which was unnecessary as only slight delay but very nice touch all the same. Would recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Manchester.

Lyndsey

Room was a superior double with 2 double beds. Lots of space in the room. Wardrobe space limited but good in room facilities - coffee station, water, bathroom products, hair dryer, ironing board. Lovely hotel and would stay again but room could do with a revamp (carpet was worn and stained in parts) and room service/housekeeping was slow to answer so often had to call twice. Room was cold as heater/air con was not working but a heater was provided immediately.

Claire

Hotel was in the perfect location for getting around the city. Tram stop just across the road which made it even easier to travel a greater distance without the cost of a taxi. Comfiest bed ever! We both had a really good nights sleep. Entrance area and tea room fabulous, I recommend trying a Xmas cocktail and the Manchester Tart is a must. Only stayed one night so didn’t use all the facilities, will definitely be back for a longer break.

Sophia

The hotel was fantastic, very luxurious. Great location and atmosphere within the hotel. Staff all very helpful, chatty and friendly. Walking distance from oxford st station aprox 8 mins and 10 mins in a taxi to ao arena. Plenty of good bars and restaurants on the doorstep but most of them you need to book a table as they dont accept walk ins. Stayed in superior king room and couldnt pick one fault. Would definitely return
